Easter Egg Wreath

My mom made this wreath at the Senior Center today for her apartment door. Didn't she do a great job? They bought a whole bunch of different size plastic eggs, then hot glued them onto a straw wreath. They do crafts about once a month and always seem to come up with unique ideas.

Napkin Applique Easter Eggs

These make beautiful eggs and are fun to make. The hardest part is blowing the egg out the hole. We're planning to make these tonight!

What You Need

  • Raw eggs
  • Straight pin
  • Sponge brush
  • School glue (like Elmer's)
  • Decorative paper napkins (flower or Easter designs are nice)
  • Paper plate
  • Wax paper

How To Make It

  1. Prick egg at both ends with straight pin. Make the hole on the bottom a little larger.
  2. Blow the egg out.
  3. Wash off egg and dry.
  4. Put some glue on a paper plate.
  5. Divide the napkin into layers. Keep only the top decorated layer.
  6. Tear the napkin into about 2" or smaller pieces.
  7. Sponge brush glue on part of the egg.
  8. Lay a piece of the napkin, right side up, over the egg. Smooth.
  9. Continue covering egg with glue and napkins.
  10. Finish with one coat of glue over entire egg to seal.
  11. Let dry completely.
  12. Use your eggs in baskets, table decorations, or any place you would like.
